Suggestions for a Taylor T3/B Amp?

I'm going to get a Taylor T3/B in the next few months. I love the semi hollow body sound and this looks to me a much better value that Gibson 335 or a Gretsch (I'm particulary hooked on the Bigsby). And to me it sounds better than a Gibson or a Gretsch. Since I've only played acoustic, my question is what amp to go with it. I only play at home and I doubt I will be gigging. I might hook up to play with some friends someday. Based on that it seems a 30 watt amp might be the size...

A small preamp to use between Yairi and Crate acoustic amp

My Alvarez plugged into my small Crate acoustic amp sounds pretty brittle and tone-dead. Could you recommend a small preamp to use? I have tried my ART SGX2000 Express(rackmount size) and that sounds good, but I want something real small that isn't a hassle to haul and setup. Any experience with such things? I've heard the ART Tube MP does a decent job.

How does an acoustic sound through a Fender Twin Reverb?

Twin Reverbs are known for their clean sound. So how does an acoustic sound through this amp? I have been looking for an electric amp and am curious as to the versatility for acoustic amplification as well.

Recording Monitors

I just blew the woofers out on my small 20 year old Advent speakers that I'd been using as stereo monitors. So I'm in the market for a pair of monitors. First of all, what is the actual difference between "monitors" and "speakers"? And, next, what is a good reasonably priced brand? By reasonable I mean less than $200 per speaker. keyboard amp and acoustic amp

the big difference i see is the acoustic amp has he notch filter
how important is this .
I keep reading and the forum say the keyboard amp is clean and just as good as acoustic amp

picking up AM radio station through PA ??

Anyone experience this? My buddy has a mixing board with a powered speaker he is using in a small church setting and they are getting a local (hi powered) AM station coming through the sound system, intermittently. Anyone have a clue as to why that happens?

It sure adds a new dimension to the morning's scripture reading.

Easy guitar to computer interface?

I'm looking for a quick and easy (read cheap) way to connect guitars to my computer. I'm using GarageBand on my Mac, but it's purely for my own use. I want to play along with backing tracks or just practice and I don't plan on doing anything with the recordings other than critiquing them. I would prefer a firewire connection, as I have 2 of them free and I'm running a shortage of USB ports. So far everything I've found seems more advanced than what I need, either...

I've looked this product over, including past posts here, but don't see in this unit the ability to convert to MP3 files as I've been doing with the H2. Can this be done with this unit? I am looking for a new guitar in the Martin 16-series lineup and will need to be able to plug in. I have read many good things about the Matrix Infinity system, and not much about the Premium Blend that comes with the DC-16GTE. Since I'm buying a new guitar I have the option of purchasing the DC-16GTE with the Premium Blend system or a straight D-16GT or D-16RGT and adding the Matrix Infinity.

Instrument mike anomaly/ question

When I first started playing out again about a year ago, I decided I wanted to mic my guitar to get the best sound out of it. So, I went out and bought a nice AKG instrument mic. It actually says "instrument microphone" on the box. I am using a Fishman Soloamp with it. It is a pencil mic that needs phantom power which the Soloamp provides.

Looking for some help. I recorded a live performance recently using my Tascam 8 track digital recorder. Vocal and guitar ran thru the house mixer before going into the recorder so the mix is set. Recorded on 2 channels, one board feed and one mic in the audience. Levels in sound check seemed good. No distortion or clipping.
Problem... although the recording sounds really good, there are some devastating pops which originate in the vocal Cs and Ps. I mean they are woofer breakers....

I'm beginning to patch together some sound equipment. Before rushing out to buy anything, I'd appreciate some input on several used items that we've got available to us at the moment.

Hi all, i was just reading the Online resources, and on of the things in mentions at the top is; Why NOT to use a SoundBlaster for recording... I've just spent 40 minutes looking for why, but i cannot find it! i intend to use my trusty old SoundBlaster Pro to record. Can anyone tell me why not? Am I really that much better off with a Fostex multitracker or USB setup?
