Your thoughts on three Madi/Adi OMs

1. OM-28M Rosanne Cash
2. OMC - Laurence Juber
3. OM-28 Marquis Madagascar

For those who have played these, which do you prefer and why? I've only played the Juber, and that one sounded too "mellow" to my ears. It could be dead strings.

What is the story with this guitar? I saw this auction posted today where the seller says, "This limited run recently sold out at the Martin factory and no more will be produced."

Is this true? It seems like a few stores have them in stock and my local store owner told me he spoke with his Martin Rep who told him the model is not discontinued, however,...

I have been playing for 20 yrs, have never read a guitar book and do not have time for tab.

When I was 18 I hung out with some older players to learn. I was told I was great.

I'm not of course..But I guess I am unique,as I'm self taught.

I went to Glastonbury and strangers liked what I played.

Shipping Guitars With Brazilian Rosewood Out Of The US ?

I come across some nice Martins for sale from time to time either from private sellers or dealers that have BRW used in their construction. It could include anything from just a headstock veneer, bridge or whole body.

Is there CITES paperwork that allows these guitars be shipped out of the US [ to Australia ] ?

If there is would a dealer usually have a better idea of the paperwork ? I'm asking this as I see some nice guitars in Buy And Sell owned by private sellers,...

Cases that fit 000-28EC

Hey,

I bought a 000-28EC here on the forum a while back, I believe it came with an original case. The case is a Black with velvet fabric tapered/folded type green lining. The top is slightly arched. My question is, does Martin make this case with the same material lining in Red?> Any help would be apreciated/

short-scale, straight-braced question

I hope this is the right place for this; if not, please re-direct. Besides the 000-18, were there other Martins built with a short scale fretboard and straight bracing between 1950 and 1980?

Martin SP+ 's gone?

I noticed a general shortage of Martin SP+ 4100's. Maury told me that Martin is going to discontinue them. Any info on this? Thought it was a pretty popular string. I like them myself.

D-18A Neck changes...possible?

I would someday love a D-18A, but there is no way I can handle that neck. I am most comfortable with a low profile 1 11/16".

Since the D-18A has the non-adjustable T-bar, can it be custom ordered with a different neck or does it need to be the Authentic barrel & heel shape to accommodate the T-bar?

Euro Topwoods and Bracing

Toying with the idea of a custom for the future. I've been reading/searching about Carpathian, German, Alpine etc. I know that the stiffer light woods will lend more clarity. I think the thing I love most about Martins is the warmth, darkness, woodiness. I'm an OM player. From my reading it appears that the Euro tops fall somewhere in between sikta and adi with respect to warmth (and clarity). Can any players chime in? Ideally I'd be trying to achieve the same warmth of my sitka...

Went down to Nazareth today. Had Lon look at a few things on my guitar and took the tour. Said hello to Dick Boak - walked through the museum and played some guitars in the picking parlour. What a GREAT day! I tell you - the people who work there really seem to love their jobs.

Only down side was that I played a D-18A they had hanging in the picking parlour and it was a big disappointment. Just about every other guitar hanging in there beat it hands down (HD 28 VS, D35 Cash,...

This great little tin box holds 12 picks, assorted sizes .53 to 1.14 mm. FYI, the box lid SLIDES! Don't try to wrench it upward, as I did. Groan, okay, I'm not mechanically-minded.

Here is the orginal post and follow-up. I have been told this is the real deal. Honesty at it's best.

old guitar. Doesn't have strings. says cMf across top, and then "artin" going down where the string pegs are.
looks like pearl? letters, and the same kind of pearl? goes up every other notch on neck. Also a bunch of old 78 records.
